Scoffing at the notion that a bad title can kill a good show, Urinetown is a subversive musical comedy triumph set in a near-future when a terrible water shortage has led to a government- enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single company that profits by charging admission for one of humanities mist basic needs - until a hero comes along.
This Tony Award winning show pokes fun at bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, greed, small-town politics and most of the standard musical theatre conventions.
