Audition Notice: As Bees In Honey Drown

Directed by Marc Forget mail@marcforget.com

As Bees In Honey Drown is a satirical comedy by Douglas Carter Beane about the pitfalls of the unquenchable hunger for fame. Alexa Vere de Vere, a flashy fast-talker who captivates and takes advantage of hapless budding artists, has a new target: Evan Wyler, an aspiring New York writer. Alexa meets with Evan, asking him if he will write a screenplay based on her glamorous life story. She promises him fame and fortune in return. Evan's trust soon gives way to suspicion and the tables soon turn with sweet revenge.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, February 21st at 4PM and Monday, Febuary 22nd at 7PM. Performances will run from May 7th through May 22nd.

Come to auditions at Footlighters

Want to try your hand at acting? An appointment is (usually) not necessary, and there is no fee to audition. Simply come along, and bring a friend to help backstage. You are urged to be familiar with the story. Dress comfortably, and bring any items (resume, photos) etc. you may have. A professional resume or photo is NOT necessary to audition, neither is acting experience. If you are chosen for certain qualities, such as voice, we will teach you the rest.

If cast, we hope you will assist with breakdown of the set after the run. Also, please read our Cast Agreement for guidelines to follow while working at Footlighters.

Bring a pal to help with props, costumes makeup or other work backstage! There's plenty of time to socialize in the actor's lounge. We can always use the help. No experience is necessary.

So you won't miss out on future Footlighters audition and workshop notices, register on our Mailing List Sign-up page and be sure to check the box for the e-mail notification option. Remember to include your valid e-mail address to facilitate communication with you. Our Messages Board may have further information on an audition, and general discussions about a production.
